1. Raising high valued decorative birds for export

• Increased export by developing new exporting markets: increase by 39% from US$28,000 in 1998 to US$35,000. in 2000
• Constructed special growing complex to raise the decorative birds: 4 locations
• Committee for cooperation between Yeongnam and Honam regions on ornamental birds and technical educations: 290 persons in 6 times
• Exhibition for showing the example of raising the ornamental birds: 7 times

2. Raising the competitiveness for producing high quality livestock

• Treating genetic factors on pig stress symptoms (PSS) : 2,000 cattles in 10 locations
• Producing good brand meat by castrating oxes and managing proper specifications: 6 locations
• Model projects including production of high quality meat of Korean ox: 30 locations in 11 fields
• Reducing the assorted feed by using plastic bag silo: 1,180 MT
• Supervision to prevent foot-and-mouth disease and pig cholera: 78,000

3. Developing new technology in association with industry and academics and research institute

• Experimental test to construct the improvement system for Korean ox: 200 cattles in 3 locations
• Enhancing productivity by searching the genetic factor in black pig: 3 projects
• Supporting the venture companies to promote the consumption of pig meat: Hainan Venture Ham Co.,Ltd
• Holding joint seminars for Korean oxes and pigs raising: 4 times

4. Expanding production base by producing quality feed and reducing assorted feed

• Constructing production base by raising grass feed with good quality: 10,000 ha
• Making feeds by using plastic bag silo: 50,000 M/T
• Operating model production with feed produced at fallow field: 7 locations
