1.Achieving the amount of production goal by disributing the recommended variety

• Setting 104,225 ha (increased by 365 ha compared with the planned cultivation area) and increased the grain production to 456 kg/10a by 2%
• Expanding the supply of qualified high yield varieties from 867 ton in 1999 to 1,141 tons
• Demonstration plot for the newly developed variey : 24 sites
• Mediating free exchange of good seeds: 1,300 M/T

2. Expanding the distribution labour saving technology

• Direct seed sowing: from 1,848 ha in 1999 to 1,953 ha
• Distributing seedbed technology with using non-woven fabric: from 77% in 1999 to 91%
• Supporting the technology to produce more rice: 83 persons in 5 times
• Subsidize printing cost for making technical leaflets : 5 titles with 160 thousands copies

3. Control of insects and disease at right times

• Operating monitoring field for the occurrence of diseases and insects: 146 sites
• Operating consulting room for the farmer's with pest problem : 14 sites
• Holding monitoring meeting to prevent diseases and insects: 2 times
• Operating an early warning system for the pests outbreak : leg precise monitoring

4. Constructing soil measuring system supported by farmers

• Measuring soil, water quality, plants and upland soil precisely: 35,000 samples
• Issuing prescription for fertilization to control the general nutrients for crops: 25,000 prescriptions
• Handling fertilization prescription before and after the operation of many exemplary projects: 930 samples
• Education for special instructors for soil ＆ fertilizers: 2 times

5. Producing safe agricultural products by distributing the environmentally friendly agricultural technology

• Direct payments to farmers with environment friendly farming: 734 ha in 15 locations
• Constructing demonstration villages or areas for environment friendly farming: 358 ha in 6 locations
• Using education center for improving soil environment : 29.7 ha in 19 locations
• Production complex for environment friendly agricultural products: 27.0 ha in 4 locations
• Technical education on environment friendly agriculture for farmers: 143 persons in 11 locations
• Reducing the use of agricultural chemicals by implementing IPM: 53 ha in 6 locations
• Rice: reduce the chemicals by 33% from 5.7 times to 3.8 times
• Apple: reduce the chemicals by 30% from 15 times to 10.5 times

6. Distributing technology to prevent rice lodging by selecting a good variety

• Distributing lodging resistant varieties from 47% to 60%
• Intensive care for yearly repeated lodging area by factor analysis : soil characteristics, fertilizer inputs, etc.
• Intensifying public activity for proper application of nitrogen
