Performance

1. Developing technology to reduce the heating cost for producing of net-melon

  • Developed heating method : improved from warm air by heating system to PE tunnel added to heating by XL pipe system
  • Fuel cost : reducing it by 81% from 2,139,000 won/10a to 408,000 won/10a
  • Yield : reducing by 16% from 2,309 kg/10a to 1,946 kg/10a
  • Income : increasing by 27% from 2,672,000 won/10a to 3,390,000 won/10a

2. Research on when the grafting should be implemented according to age of the stock plant on water melon

  • Varieties : Momotaroyork / youngmuza( Date of the grafting : July 31, Date of the transplanting : Aug. 19, begining to harvest from October 20.)
  • Effect of setting fruits on lower node : Reducing of setting fruit node from 13.4th node in habitual way to 9.5th node in grafting way
  • Early yield : from 986kg/10a in habitual way to 1,234 kg /10a in grafting way (increasing by 25%)

3. Research on the planting density to improve the quality of eggplant for exports

  • Planting density : 200*50cm (4 stems training on 1 row planting in 1 group) → 200*25cm (2 stems training on one row planting)
  • Rate of marketable fruits : decreased by 1% from 84% to 83%
  • Yield : increased by 6 % from 11,559 kg/10a to 12,214 kg/10a

4. Research to improve technology for growing sweet pumpkin

  • Suitable days for seedling of sweet pumpkin : increased yield by 29% from habitual days(20 days) to 40 days
  • Suitable pot types for seedling of sweet pumpkin : increased income by 34% by using the 12㎝ single pot from the connected pot

5. Improving the growing technology on the paprika for export

  • Method of the transplanting for seedling : habitual way → U type transplanting way(increased the yield by 9% from 8,701 kg/10 to 9,447kg/10a)
  • Suitable training number of stems : 2 stems per plant → training additional 1 stem on late stage(increased the yield by 8% from 9,877 to 10,657kg/10a)

6. Development of nutrient solution program for growers

  • Supporting nutrient solution program to field and consulting for growers : 95 cases applied to 9 species including paprika
  • Characteristics : Rapid support of the nutrient solution paper to growers. With this program, the time can be reduced from 120 minutes / 10a to 2 minutes/treatment

7. Developing domestic medium for hydroponic tomato culture

  • Variety : Momotaroyork
  • Standard solution : Yamazaki standard solution
  • Developing medium : synthetic fiber
  • Cost : reduced the cost by 30% compared to rock wool

8. Income according to calcium nitrate types when cucumber for export is cultured by hydroponic system

  • Cost of nutrient solution: Reduced by 45% from 2,310,000 won /10a of Japanese products to 1,275,000 won /10a of Norwegian products
  • Income : Increased by 13 % from 7,697,000 won/10a to 8,663,000 won/10a without the difference of the yield

9. Development of high density system(Y-type tree form) for early high yield in japanese apricot

  • High density system(6 x 2m) produced more yield by 91% than open-center- training(6 x 5m) for 6 years after planting
  • Harvest time required per unit weight of fruit was reduced by 13% in high density system, compared with open-center-training
  • High density system had higher income by 77% than open-center-training for 6 years after planting

10. High yield effect by renewal of main branches at the upper trunk in old kiwifruit tree

  • Cultivar was Hayward over 18 years old
  • Fruit size was more weighed 3.1g in renewal of main branches than control(83.6g)
  • Renewal of main branches produced higher yield by 12% than control(1,630kg/10a)
